If you love to explore what’s around the next corner, three community trails await. The Sunset Trail is a .50 mile trek and is perfect for family fun. The Nature Trail, with its breathtaking views, is 1.39 miles and will challenge the more serious hiker. Canines and their companions enjoy the one mile Fitness Trail that is comfortable for all levels of fitness. Additionally, access to the adjacent Chestnut Ridge Heritage Preserve, which offers 2 to 4 mile hiking trails to the Pacolet River is just minutes from the community.

The South Carolina Hang Gliding Association calls Glassy its launch site and is the only one in SC. One of the Association’s founding members purchased the launch site lot on Glassy Mountain facing Highway 11.

Glassy Mountain was recently recognized by the SC Audubon Society for its efforts to provide a sustainable future through bird-friendly and climate-resilient practices. Glassy Mountain was the second community in the state to receive the official designation.
